Hannaleena Markkanen & Jaakko Kuikka
Hannaleena Markkanen is Dance Educator, Body Musician and Percussive Dancer. She has worked the past decades as a performer, educator, and choreographer nationally and internationally. Her interest in humanity, psychology and the mind-body connection led her to work with diverse groups, community dance and inclusive practises more than 15 years ago. She currently teaches Rhythm and Movement at Vocational College Live. She sees all dancers and moving bodies as visual musicians and is fascinated by everyone’s unique connection to creating.
Jaakko Kuikka is a Freelance dancer who draws inspiration from various somatic approaches, contemporary dance, body music and listening. Jaakko graduated as a dancer from Vocational College Live earlier this year and is currently actively performing with their Butoh solo work and with Helsinki Improvisation Orchestra.
Together Hannaleena and Jaakko lead an Inclusive Movement Workshop at the Seminar. Their Workshop explores Body Music sounds and Movement, gently guides participants into deep listening and connecting through rhythms and soundscapes. Additionally, Hannaleena contributes to the Seminar as a Panel Discussion Moderator and is also working as a Project Manager in the INCLUD inclusive dance project.
