Jasmiina Sipilä has worked as the lead teacher and special education teacher of the Vocational Dance Degree Program at the Vocational Collage Live since 2018. She works in the field of inclusive dance art as an educator, choreographer, lecturer and trainer in Finland and internationally and has been active in the professional dance field for 20 years.
Emmi Mäkelä and Senja Sidoro are dancers and performers studying in the dance program at the Vocational Collage Live.
Emmi is interested in developing holistic body-mind health through creative movement and somatic practices. In artistic work she wants to make visible and share the experiences of people from diverse backgrounds.
Senja has started training in dance and movement therapy alongside her studies in the dance program at Live. She has years of experience in body suspension practice and is currently developing the integration of dance and body suspension in performance contexts.
At the seminar, Jasmiina and Emmi will give a talk on perspectives on accessible vocational dance education. Jasmiina and Senja will lead an inclusive dance workshop that focuses on Laban’s movement qualities and Bartenieff’s developmental movement patterns, exploring the possibilities of one’s own movement pathways and awakening the senses and spatial awareness to create a shared dance space. Additionally, Jasmiina will participate in the seminar as a panelist.
